Law No. 1099
Changes to judges' status: experience, pensions, state insurance and disciplinary liability
Law No. 1099 of 06.06.2002 amends Law No. 544-XIII on the status of judges and Law No. 950-XIII on the Disciplinary Board. It changes the conditions for applying to be a judge, recalculates lifetime allowances and pensions based on the salary of a sitting judge, and regulates state insurance. The law entered into force on 11.07.2002, except for some provisions that take effect on 1 January 2003.

Freezing financial operations of persons involved in terrorist acts
The law adds Article 81 to Law No. 539-XV on combating terrorism. Organizations that carry out financial operations must, on the instruction of bodies empowered with preliminary investigation, block the funds and assets of persons involved in terrorist acts or in facilitating them. The law entered into force on 11.07.2002.

Law No. 1140
Changes to free enterprise zone laws and the Fiscal Code (2002)
Law No. 1140 of 14.06.2002 amends the laws on several free enterprise zones in Moldova and some tax acts. The Expo-Business-Chişinău and Tvardiţa zones have set operating terms, and the other zones have a term of 25 years. The law entered into force on 11.07.2002.
