Amendments to the entrepreneurship law: production cooperatives become private enterprises

The law amends Law No. 845-XII of 3 January 1992 on entrepreneurship and enterprises. A production cooperative is defined as an enterprise set up by five or more natural persons, based mainly on the personal work of its members and on shares in its capital, and is declared a private law enterprise with a lucrative (including commercial) purpose. The law enters into force on 31.12.2002.

Law No. 1542

Licences issued abroad may also be valid in Moldova

The law adds a new paragraph to Article 12 of Law No. 451-XV on licensing certain types of activity. Licences issued by licensing authorities abroad are also valid in the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in line with the international agreements to which Moldova is a party. The law took effect on 31.12.2002.

Law No. 1578

Moldova ratifies European Convention on control of firearms held by private persons

Parliament ratified the European Convention on the control of the acquisition and possession of firearms by private individuals, signed in Strasbourg on 28 June 1978. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is designated as the competent authority. The law entered into force on 31.12.2002.

Law No. 1528

Amendments to the joint stock companies law and the insolvency law

Law No. 1528 amends several articles of Law No. 1134-XIII on joint stock companies and sets how debts are converted into shares during the isolation and post-isolation periods. The text says that management bodies of a company in insolvency are exercised by bodies empowered under the Insolvency Law No. 632-XV. The law entered into force on 31.12.2002.
