Law No. 23 of 2007 on HIV/AIDS prevention: rights, testing and treatment

The law sets the framework for HIV/AIDS prevention in the Republic of Moldova. It guarantees voluntary testing, counselling, free antiretroviral treatment and medical, social and psychological assistance. It bans discrimination against people with HIV-positive status. The law entered into force on 20.04.2007 and has not been repealed.

Pharmacies must use the automated system for tracking medicine circulation

The law amends the Law on Pharmaceutical Activity and the Code of Administrative Offences. Companies and pharmacies may dispense medicines only if the movement is recorded in the automated information system and the medicines carry labels with a latent strip. Article 20¹ of the Pharmaceutical Law applies from the publication date, and the sanctions in Article 14³ letter f) of the same law apply from 1 January 2008.

Lifetime allowance for high-performance athletes who won Olympic or championship medals

Law no. 66 of 22.03.2007 amends Article 34 of the Law on Physical Culture and Sport. Citizen athletes of the Republic of Moldova who won gold, silver or bronze medals in Olympic events are entitled to a monthly lifetime allowance. Payments start from 1 January 2007, and the law has been in force since 20.04.2007.

Changes to trade rules for ozone-depleting substances, in force from 20.04.2007

Law No. 72 of 22.03.2007 amends the annex to Law No. 852-XV on the trade regime and use of ozone-depleting halogenated hydrocarbons. The text replaces the ministry name and the Customs Department with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Customs Service. It also changes rules on licences, import, export and re-export authorisations, and the list of substances and tariff positions. The law entered into force on 20.04.2007.

Goods from free economic zones move to another customs regime when activity ends

The law adds paragraph (12) to Article 7 of Law No. 440-XV on free economic zones. When a free zone or subzone stops operating, or when resident status is revoked before that stop, the resident or former resident must place goods previously brought under the free zone customs regime under another customs regime, in line with the legislation in force. The law entered into force on 20.04.2007.

Law on lease No. 861-XII and its Article 19 interpretation repealed

Law No. 83 of 29.03.2007 repeals Law No. 861-XII of 14 January 1992 on lease and Law No. 642-XIII of 14 November 1995 interpreting Article 19 of that law. It entered into force on 20.04.2007. The text does not say who is affected and does not name a replacement act.
