Subsidy law extended to rural development and agriculture
Law no. 281 amends Law no. 276/2016 and extends subsidies from agricultural producers to agricultural and rural development. It introduces advance subsidies for rural infrastructure, renovation of rural localities and non-agricultural activities. The law took effect on 18.02.2019.

Lifetime allowance for top athletes and their coaches from 1 January 2019
The law amends Law no. 330/1999 on physical culture and sport and introduces monthly lifetime allowances for medal-winning athletes and for coaches who trained them. The athlete allowance is granted on request, with confirmation from the central specialized authority, if they are 35 or older and were members of national teams for at least 8 years. The law enters into force on 1 January 2019.

Law No. 315 · Education
Changes to the Education Code: strategic council of private universities and member fees
The law amends Article 104 of the Education Code. For private higher education institutions, the Strategic Institutional Development Council no longer includes representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the Ministry of Finance, and decisions are adopted with the vote of 5 members. Member fees are set at 1000 lei, and the chair's fee at 2000 lei. The law enters into force on 18.01.2019.

600 lei unique support extended to state social allowance recipients
The law extends the 600 lei unique support, previously available to pension recipients, to recipients of state social allowances set under Law nr. 499/1999. The allowance for care, accompaniment and supervision is excluded. The law entered into force on 18.01.2019, the day of publication.
