La articolul II punctul 1 din Legea nr. 118 din 2 iunie 2016 pentru modificarea și completarea unor acte legislative, publicată în Monitorul Oficial al Republicii Moldova, 2016, nr. 247-255, art.521:
1. În loc de textul:
«e) în cazul persoanelor cu tulburări psihice (boli mintale sau deficienţe mintale), aflate la întreţinere în instituţii psihoneurologice, actul de identitate se eliberează în urma demersului instituţiei respective.
(1⁴) În cazul în care se solicită buletinul de identitate ce conţine mijloacele semnăturii electronice şi certificatele cheilor publice nu se admite depunerea cererii prin reprezentant.”
articolul se completează cu alineatele (1⁵)–(1⁹) cu următorul cuprins:»
se va citi textul:

articolul se completează cu alineatele (1⁴)–(1⁹) cu următorul cuprins:

2. În loc de textul «(1⁷) Pentru a pune în executare măsurile prevăzute la alin.(1⁵)» se va citi textul «(1⁷) Pentru a pune în executare măsurile prevăzute la alin.(1⁶)».

The law sets out how the Chișinău municipal authorities are organized: the Municipal Council, the General Mayor, deputy mayors, pretors and public services. It describes their composition and powers. The law entered into force on 16.09.2016, and the text includes an amendment of 11.06.26, in force from 26.06.26, which added the option of joining a European grouping of territorial cooperation.

Company seals no longer required for businesses and entrepreneurs under many laws
Law nr. 160 of 07.07.2016 removes the duty of companies and entrepreneurs to hold and apply their own seal on documents. Where a law still requires a seal, the requirement is met by the signature of the authorized person of the company or of the entrepreneur. The law took effect on 16.09.2016.

Parliament ratifies agreement on Moldova's participation in EU health programme 2014-2020
Law No. 178 of 21.07.2016 ratifies the agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova on Moldova's participation in the third EU Programme for the Union's action in the field of health (2014-2020). Moldova will pay an annual financial contribution of EUR 23 662 to the EU general budget. The law entered into force on 16.09.2016.

SME law: new size criteria for micro, small and medium enterprises, in force from 01.01.26
Law No. 179 of 21.07.2016 sets the legal framework for micro enterprises, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and state support measures. According to the amendment of 10.07.25, the new criteria apply from 01.01.26. An SME has no more than 249 employees and annual net turnover of no more than 25 million euros, or total assets of no more than 21.5 million euros.

Law on the finality of settlement in payment and financial instrument settlement systems
The law sets out that payment orders, transfer orders and netting remain valid even if insolvency proceedings are opened against a participant, provided they were entered into the system before that moment. It covers payment and financial instrument settlement systems, their participants and related collateral. The law entered into force on 16.03.2017.

Law No. 185/2016: changes on financial institutions, pledges, insolvency and capital market
The law amends several legal acts on financial institutions, pledges, insolvency and the capital market. It requires the exact date and time of decisions to withdraw a bank licence and to open insolvency proceedings. Many changes refer to Laws No. 183 and No. 184 of 22 July 2016. The law enters into force on 16.03.2017, and Article VI point 2 enters into force on the start date of activity of the Unique Central Depository.

Law No. 187/2016 changes consumer protection: warranties, repairs and product replacement
The law amends Law No. 105-XV on consumer protection. The seller is liable for any non-conformity existing when the product was delivered. Consumers can ask for free repair or replacement and, in certain cases, a price reduction or refund. The law enters into force on 16.03.2017.

Law No. 188 of 22.07.2016 amends several acts on public associations, foundations, employers' associations and trade unions. The changes concern registration, the State Register of Non-Commercial Organizations and public utility status. The law enters into force on 16.12.2016, and the provisions on the Certification Commission take effect when its members' mandates expire.

New law on domestic violence: emergency restraining order and protection order
The law amends several acts on domestic violence. It introduces an emergency restraining order, which police can issue to remove the aggressor from the home immediately, and extends protection measures to the victim's children. The law enters into force on 16.09.2016, and the provisions on the emergency restraining order apply 6 months after publication.

Ratification of Addendum No. 2 to the Financing Agreement with the European Union
Parliament ratified Addendum No. 2 to the Financing Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, drawn up on 2 June 2016. The Government must take the measures needed to carry out the addendum. The law entered into force on 16.09.2016.

Law No. 212 of 29.07.2016 amends and supplements Law No. 139 of 2 July 2010 on copyright and related rights. Liquidator of BC "Banca Socială" S.A. temporarily replaced for 12-27 September 2016
The National Bank of Moldova decided that, during the leave of liquidator Sergiu Berghie from 12.09.2016 to 27.09.2016, the role of liquidator of BC "Banca Socială" S.A. in liquidation will be performed by Silvia Marcu. When the period ends, management and control of the bank return to Sergiu Berghie. The ordinance took effect on 06.09.2016.
