New rules for passports, ID cards and citizenship, in force from 10.10.2018

Law No. 61 of 31.05.2018 changes how identity documents are issued, including an electronic ID card for citizens with full legal capacity, issued on request for 10 years. The law also changes the rules for obtaining Moldovan citizenship for certain groups of people. The law takes effect on 10.10.2018, except for some provisions that take effect 6 months after publication.

Law No. 105/2018 on employment promotion and unemployment insurance: general framework

The law sets rules for promoting employment, the status of an unemployed person and employment measures, including unemployment insurance. Law 109/2018 changes tourism rules and introduces rural houses

The law amends Law 352/2006 on tourism. It defines a rural house, a accommodation unit based on a private household, with up to 3 rooms and a maximum of 10 people. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is replaced by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure in most provisions, and rural houses only notify local authorities. The law entered into force on 10.09.2018.

The law sets out how public authorities exchange data with each other and with private participants through the interoperability platform. Data from state registers is treated as primary and official, and exchange for private participants is paid. The law entered into force on 10.11.2018.

Law No. 146/2018 amends Law No. 121/2001 on additional social protection for certain categories of population. In point 9) of Article 2, the figure 100 is replaced with 500. People who fall into two or more categories of beneficiaries receive a single allowance, of their choice. The law enters into force on 1 September 2018.

Parliament ratifies 80 million euro loan for power grid link with Romania

Parliament ratified the loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the project interconnecting the electricity networks of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Phase I. The loan is 80 million euro and was signed in Chișinău on 20 December 2017. The law enters into force on 10.09.2018.
