Code No. 434

Urban Planning and Construction Code No. 434 of 28.12.2023: new framework for building permits and works

The Code sets one legal framework for spatial planning, urban planning, design, permitting, execution, operation and dismantling of constructions, and for the quality of construction materials. Permits must be issued electronically through SIA GEAP, and on the applicant's request a paper copy can be issued. The Code entered into force on 30.01.2024, and the available text shows amendments in force from 06.08.26.

Law No. 4

Chisinau public monument register update: the "Arta" mosaic moves to a new address

Law No. 4 of 18.01.2024 updates one entry for a public monument in Chisinau in the national register approved by Law No. 148/2018. The old entry for the mosaic at Kiev street No. 7 is replaced by a new entry that places the "Arta" mosaic on the facade of the auxiliary building of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre, with a note that until restoration it stays on the facade at Kiev street No. 7. The law takes effect on 01.03.2024.

Law No. 407

New rules for alcohol production: labeling, packaging and imports

Law No. 407 amends several acts on alcohol production. Spirit drinks with at least 25% alcohol by volume get new rules on stoppers, labels and control. The law enters into force on 30.01.2024, and some provisions, such as those on contracts in the wine sector, apply from 01.02.2026.
